Sybil Haydel Morial – “Witness to Change: From Jim Crow to Political Empowerment”

 

            On Thursday, February 13th, Sybil Haydel Morial will speak about her memoir Witness to Change: From Jim Crow to Political Empowerment and about her experience growing up in a changing New Orleans. From her childhood in the insulated black middle class of New Orleans during segregation to her experiences as a political activist beginning in the 1960s and 70s.

 

            This lecture will take place on Thursday, February 13th at 6 pm. The lecture is free and open to the public at the New Orleans Jazz Museum at the Old U.S. Mint.
