The Jefferson Performing Arts Society is proud to present MADAMA BUTTEFLY, September 20 at 7:30pm & September 21 at 5pm, at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center, 400 Phlox Street in Metairie. Puccini's masterpiece of love, betrayal & sacrifice is vibrantly brought to life by an international cast of performers including Hiroko Morita as Madama Butterfly. Directed by the acclaimed Gianmaria Romagnoli, MADAMA BUTTERFLY is not to be missed!

The Jefferson Performing Arts Society's MADAMA BUTTERFLY presented by Peoples Health is September 20 & 21 at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center in Metairie. Tickets are $25-$30 for adults; $22-27 for seniors and military; $19 for students with valid ID; $12 for children 12 years and under. For tickets call 504.885.2000 or visit www.jpas.org.

A native of Kyoto, Japan, Hiroko Morita joins the JPAS production of Madama Butterfly after playing the title role in several countries throughout the world including Italy and Japan. A seasoned classical performer, Morita is excited to be making her regional debut in this production.

The cast includes several seasoned operatic voices that have made performed throughout the world: Drew Slatton as Pinkerton, Victor Garcia as Sharpless, Christina Hager as Suzuki, Aaron Sanko as Goro, Alan Payne as Bonze, Juliana Starr as Kate Pinkerton, and Terc Martinez as Prince Yamadori.

Director Gianmaria Romagnoli hails from Italy and is pleased to be collaborating once again with the Jefferson Performing Arts Society having directed several operas in past JPAS seasons. His innovative artistic vision lends a refreshing view to this classic of operatic performance making this production of MADAMA BUTTERFLY a must see in the cultural season.

Madama Butterfly will also be performed Thursday September 25 at the Biloxi Saenger Theater in Biloxi as part of the Biloxi Saenger Series presented by the Jefferson Performing Arts Society.
