i cannot express my many memories of new orleans in words and do them any justice, yet i keep them engraved on my heart to revisit when i am truly missing new orleans (which is often) new orleans is not my home, but i fell in love with the city-and the love of my life-during my 1st visit in July, 1997. i spent the next year visiting whenever possible, envying the people who were blessed to actually lived there, and working to make my dream a reality. my dream came true in August of 1998, when i moved to new orleans to attend graduate school at tulane. what a magical 2 years!! i grew as a person and learned so much about myself. i've only been back in indianapolis for 4 months, but everyday i am plagued with regret for leaving such a wonderful place. i miss the quarter, the food, daquiris, uptown, but most of all the people who embraced me as if i were one of there own. my heart is truly still in new orleans and i will be back soon as well!
