I've been a very fortunate gal. I've enjoyed breakfast at Brennans and formal dining at Antoines. Two world famous restaurants in New Orleans ... they are already promising to return after New Orleans is reborn. I can still remember Brennan's eggs benedict. Pouched eggs served over Canadian bacon and English muffins, topped with the most delicious Hollandaise sauce ever prepared. Accompanied, of course, with a beautiful light wine in lieu of coffee... Those were the days my friends. I'm so thankful I had the opportunity to enjoy it when I did. The days were 24 solid hours filled with street people, music, nibbles, and many lively goings-on. At any time of the day you could be passing an open door to a restaurant, bar, whatever, and the music that emanated from within acted as a magnet.
