I visitied New Orleans for the first time August 4th, just three weeks before Katrina. I fell in love with the history of the city and the uniqueness of all of the people of New Orleans. I hope and pray that all will overcome this disaster and be able to return to their homes very soon to rebuild their lives. I know as a resident of St. Louis, MO, I will have to opportunity to help some of the families of New Orleans that have been affected by Katrina. I understand that many families will arrive in St. Louis over the next several days to live until permaent housing becomes available, my family and I will do all we can for these people. I hope the American people will step up and give all they can to the Red Cross to help those in need. The loss of life from this disaster is unacceptable and we need to end the suffering now. Our thoughts and prayers are with all.
