I work for the local transit agency in Lake County, Ohio. On Oct.19,2005, Laketran employees and several area high school students held a drive to collect supplies to distribute in the Jefferson Parish area. While we were there, we worked on three different homes to do clean up work and repairs. We were only there for two days, but the impact on the employees and students was amazing. Upon our return, the students from two of our local high schools banded together to form a return trip to help the seniors there in clean up and repairs. We will be returning on April 13th to again offer our love, support and labor to New Orleans. Two local families, whose homes sustained only minor damage, have again offered to house our volunteer group. Through raffles and donations, we are raising the money for our transportation. I salute all in New Orleans who have returned to so little, but given so much. God Bless you.
