My aunt and I went to New Orleans for the first time for Mardi Gras "97. My biggest reason for going was Anne Rice, after all it was her books that led me there. One day we went to see her house on First Street and after a few minutes of standing there in awe, Anne walks out of the front door. I was shocked. As she walked through the front gate I explained who I was and then, being so overwhelmed, I started crying and she just held me in her arms for what seemed like forever. We then talked for awhile and took our picture together. I will never forget her generosity. This was the best week of my life and my heart will always belong to New Orleans. Always.
