Before I knew New Orleans in person, I met her in many books. Back then, the only reason I started reading Anne Rice was because her books were set in New Orleans. My best friend took me there in '92 after we both had bad breakups and we had the most fantastic time - met some lovely English soccer players. I love the history of the city, the cemeteries, Jackson Square. We know so much of the French History that we still call the streets by their French names! In '96 I introduced my hubby of a year to the city ... now he is hooked. We are coming back in November to do the things we have yet to do, including a Natchez cruise and spending more time at Pat O'Briens. The food is so fantastic! .... And Mud Bugs - I can't even begin to sing their praises!
