Hell Yes Fest

  • Date: Nov 15 - 19, 2017

A Comedy Explosion in NOLA?  Oh, Hell Yes!

New Orleans is called the Crescent City, but if that name ever fails, another really good one would be the Festival City.  We’ve got tomato festivals, burlesque festivals, beer festivals, crawfish festivals, and one of the newer big events: the Hell Yes Fest.

No, this festival isn’t a tribute to Stone Cold Steve Austin, but it does revolve around comedy.  The Hell Yes Fest is 5 days of just about every kind of humor you can imagine, presented by dozens of rip-roaring performers from all over the United States, with a special emphasis on local entertainers.

It happens November 15-19 this year.  The event takes place in various venues around the city, so keep up with the latest on HellYesFest.com for announcements of this year’s lineup and venues.

Enough to keep you laughing for days

Join locals and incomers and get ready to laugh your butt off with sketch, improv and stand-up acts from comics who’ve paid their dues on comedy stages from New York to Chicago and everywhere in between and outside.

The fest includes live podcast recordings, workshops and a short-film festival.  In other words, something for every taste and preference.  And since it’s in New Orleans, you already know what kind of vibe to expect.

Hell Yes origins

While many special events and festivals in New Orleans have time-honored traditions, the Hell Yes Fest is still breaking new ground as it insinuates itself into the larger mix of things to must-do each year in the Big Easy.

The festival was first launched in Austin, Texas, to riotous response.  In 2011, festival organizers decided it wasn’t right to keep all the fun only in Austin and brought it here.  If you’re a die-hard and can’t get enough, you can catch the show in Austin every April then hit New Orleans later in the year.

Recent years here have seen Hell Yes events showcasing at venues in the French Quarter as well as the adjacent Faubourg Marigny neighborhood.  These likely will continue to be hot spots.

Mark your calendars and bookmark HellYesFest.com to keep up with lineups, performers and dates and times as they’re added.
