Love
in New Orleans
by Timothy Jackson
Dedicated to Tammy Tunson
As we walked to Cafe Du Monde
on that warm summer night,
we held each others hand,
beneath a N'awlins moonlight
The Quarter was alive,
with jazz in the air,
the smell of creole cuisine,
and beignets that we shared
Maybe it was the sound
of your soft southern voice
or that ol' bayou charm
that left me no choice
In all my life
I never would've thought
that I'd find love
in "the City that Care Forgot!"
