I first visited New Orleans about twenty years ago, and was immediately captivated and fascinated with its' magic. It is one of the few cities left that still has that magic and special charm. That amazing blend of character, history, intrigue, art, music, culture and earthiness. I have started visiting the city twice a year, since I went to Jazz Fest in 1992. I use most of my vacation leave to go there, and count the days and weeks between visits, in April and November. New Orleans is addicting, and I find myself feeling very blue when I have to leave. It has something so special that i find that whatever I'm doing there, if its aimlessly roaming the street, or relaxing on a bench....it feels good! The people are great. And not only do I love New Orleans, but Louisiana also holds a great fascination for me...so much to see and do. I have a lot of trouble getting out of the French Quarter when I'm there, and I don't even drink. I just love the feel and atmosphere of New Orleans, the most enchanting and interesting American city.....and a world-class city as well.
