Thanksgiving in New Orleans

Posted on: November 22, 2010 | Posted in: New Orleans
Thanksgiving marks a busy time in the city of New Orleans. Thursday kicks off a long weekend of traditions and festivities of sports, eating, shopping. Thanksgiving Day will be celebrated with deep fried turkey and a Saints game on the television. Don't feel like cooking this year? Order a fried turkey from Copeland's. Want to skip all of the dishwashing and the clean-up after the big meal? Dine out at one of our recommended restaurants open on Thanksgiving, and let them take care of the work for you.

Be sure to get plenty of rest before the Black Friday shopping rush. If you need a place to temporarily stash your gifts or just a place to wrap your gifts, check out the return of "Santa's Workshop" over at Elmwood Self-Storage.

And finally, Saturday brings the 37th Annual Bayou Classic back to the Superdome. Grambling State and Southern University are tied in the overall series with eighteen wins a piece. Expect to see a city full of fans and two gridiron rivals hungry to take the series lead.
