Now only a week away, the Essence Music Festival is set to bring the best of both national and local acts, with a strong representation of the commercial sounds of rap, hip-hop, R&B, gospel and the local flavor of brass bands, jazz, and the blues. This year, the festival is from July 1st to July 3rd, and, as always, the festivities will be held in the Superdome in New Orleans.
