Oktoberfest
- Date: 2026-10-09-10, 16-17, 23-24
- Location: Deutsches Haus (1700 Moss St.)

New Orleans may be famous for gumbo and po-boys, but every fall it enthusiastically embraces bratwurst, schnitzel, polka, and German beer. Oktoberfest at Deutsches Haus is one of the Gulf South’s best celebrations of German heritage, and locals return year after year.
Why We Recommend It
We always have a good time at this festival. Many Germans settled in New Orleans back in the day, and we’re proud of that heritage, too! Besides, you can’t eat gumbo all the time (well, maybe you can, but you know what we mean)
Don’t Miss
- Authentic German food
- German beers
- Live music
- Traditional dancing
- Family activities
Local Tip
Don’t leave without trying the desserts. The baked goods are wunderbar.
