We’re Dead Set Against Missing
Noël Coward’s Blithe Spirit
January 8-25, 2026 at Le Petit Theatre

For years, tour guides in the French Quarter have been whispering about how Le Petit Theatre is haunted. Well, last night we can verify that there are definitely ghosts at this 110-year-old gem in the French Quarter. They’re starring in what many consider Noël Coward’s finest work, Blithe Spirit. There might not have been genuine ectoplasm but there certainly was real enthusiasm for this spooktacular production, directed by local legend Ricky Graham, who also plays Madame Arcati, the medium who summons up the ghost of the host’s late white, Elvira, deliciously played by Jessie Terrebonne

Every single one of the actors on stage deserved their own standing ovation. Vatican Lokey who played Charles and Ashley Santos who starred as his wife Ruth were extremely fun to watch as was Bethany Lee who played the maid Edith. Kyle Daigrepoint (Dr. Bradman) and Ashley Smetherman Lemmler (Mrs. Bradman) rounded out this stellar cast, but the actors aren’t the only ones who deserve applause. The stage design and the costumes were magnificent. The local creative team includes Andre LaSalle (Scenic Design), Kaci Thomassie (Costume Design), Dan Zimmer (Lighting Design), Jamie Doyle (Sound Design), Deborah Bommer-Morrissey (Properties Design), and Laurin Hart (Wig/Hair/Makeup Design). This city is so lucky to have talent like this and the season has just begun.

It’s not too late to get partial season tickets for this year’s productions which include Blithe Spirit, Guys & Dolls, God of Carnage and Once. Click for tics.
