Ghosts in the Oaks 2026

Time: 5–9 p.m. (Early Admission); 6–9 p.m. (General Admission)

Grab your little ghosts, goblins, and space aliens! One of our favorite family Halloween traditions, Ghosts in the Oaks, returns to New Orleans City Park October 15–18, 2026, with an out-of-this-world theme.

For four nights, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park and Storyland become a Halloween playground filled with trick-or-treating, unlimited amusement park rides, live entertainment, and activities for the whole family. Kids can follow an extended trick-or-treat trail through the Historic New Orleans Train Garden, collect candy, and enjoy a little Halloween magic beneath City Park’s beautiful live oaks.

And don’t worry if you’ve got little ones who aren’t quite ready for scary Halloween attractions. Ghosts in the Oaks is designed for family-friendly fun, not frights. Costumes are encouraged, and each child receives a reusable trick-or-treat bag.

Tickets and Admission

General Admission is $30 and includes entry from 6 to 9 p.m. Want an extra hour of fun? Early Admission is $35 and begins at 5 p.m. Children ages 2 and under get in free, and Friends of City Park members receive $5 off General Admission tickets.

Be sure to purchase your tickets in advance. This popular event typically sells out, and tickets won’t be available at the gate.

Why We Love It

There’s something special about seeing City Park all dressed up for Halloween. The familiar rides, Storyland’s storybook setting, and those magnificent old oaks make the perfect backdrop for a night of family fun. Best of all, proceeds help City Park Conservancy care for one of the places New Orleanians love most.
