Happy Tuesday! If the midweek doldrums are beginning to take hold, banish them with an uplifting trip to the theater tonight.

If you haven't seen The Lion King yet, you should– it's garnering rave reviews from audiences and critics alike. Raves one viewer, "The costumes, singing, and flow of the story were all amazing!" The show's creative lighting, impressive sets and athletic cast put a fresh spin on this Disney favorite, and the performance is appropriate for adults and children alike.

Can't make it to the Mahalia Jackson, or don't think you can manage a full production? Check out An Apology by Doctor Faustus, playing this evening at 9:00PM at The Hatchery's Garret Theater. This tragicomic take on the classic story of Faust features a changing cast of characters playing Mephistopheles, while Michael Martin delivers the lead role's monologue.

Or, drop by Michalopoulos Studio to see Southern Rep's production of A Streetcar Named Desire, playing at 7:30. Housed at Canal Place for over twenty years, Southern Rep had to find a new home after the mall's theater decided to expand. Local artist Michalopoulos immediately offered his vast studio space, because the show must go on!
