At last, the wait is over. The American Library Association, the first major citywide convention post Katrina, begins today through June 28. The exhibits will be open June 24-27 in the Ernest N. Something new for the National D-Day Museum

New Orleans attractions re-open after Katrina

The Audubon Aquarium of the Americas opened Memorial Day Weekend after an 8 month shutdown because of the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. It was so exciting to be back in the Aquarium, and it appeared to be even more beautiful than before. Hurricane Katrina Update

There is still lots of cleanup to do in the Katrina-affected neighborhoods, and many houses are not yet ready to live in. However, we can see people working in all affected neighborhoods; many of the homes have been gutted and will be rebuilt.
