An Augmented Adventure Through the American Revolution
History comes to life in a whole new way this spring in the French Quarter. Beginning March 20, The Historic New Orleans Collection will host the U.S. premiere of “American Revolution: The Augmented Exhibition,” an immersive experience that lets visitors step directly into the story of America’s founding.

Located at 520 Royal Street, this free exhibition blends cutting-edge technology with fascinating history, making it a must-see for locals and visitors alike—and for people of all ages.
Instead of simply reading about the past, visitors explore it using handheld HistoPad tablets that transform the galleries into fully immersive scenes. Through 360-degree augmented-reality reconstructions, guests can travel back in time and experience 20 pivotal moments from the American Revolution.

One of the highlights is the opportunity to learn about the Gulf South’s role in the Revolution, including the campaigns led by Bernardo de Gálvez—a key figure whose victories along the Gulf Coast helped weaken British forces but is often overlooked in traditional history books.

This isn’t your typical museum experience. Along the way, visitors can search for hidden treasure, complete interactive challenges, and snap selfies inside recreated historical moments. The mix of storytelling, exploration, and technology makes the exhibition especially engaging for families, curious kids, and anyone who enjoys a little adventure with their history.
“American Revolution: The Augmented Exhibition” will be on view March 20, 2026, through January 17, 2027.
